Riverbend Gardens Super Greens Ciabatta

We’re partnering with Riverbend Gardens this month to bring you our August bread special, the Super Greens Ciabatta. This classic ciabatta is infused with a hearty blend of kale and Swiss chard grown on the Riverbend Gardens farm right here in Edmonton. Flavourful and herbaceous, it’s the perfect base for garlic bread or bruschetta, or served alongside pasta. It’s the easiest way to eat your greens!

This bread is a long fermentation (24 hour) bread that provides a lot of the same health benefits as sourdough, without the sourdough “tang”. We use an extremely small quantity of yeast, and the bread rises over 24 hours at room temperature. During that time, the gluten in the flour is broken down, allowing for easier digestion and great flavour!
