Bon Ton Bread Knives and Cutting Boards
We’ve partnered with 53 Ave Woodcraft to bring you one-of-a-kind Bon Ton bread knives and cutting boards.
The specialized bread knives were crafted using a blade designed for our bread slicing machines. The blade is very sharp and built to make thousands of cuts effortlessly. Enjoy easily slicing the crisp Bon Ton crusts you love!
The cutting boards, made from maple, white oak, or end grain maple are the finishing touch for the bread lover in your life.
Every purchase of a knife or board also receives a loaf of unsliced bread in a Bon Ton linen bread bag! Please include the bread loaf you would like in the notes section when checking out.
Care and Use of Knives:
These knife blades are made from steel, so they can rust. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking or submerging in water on a regular basis. If the blade does require more intensive cleaning, you can use water and regular dish soap – the key is to dry immediately. If you do see some rust you can remove it with the scouring side of a sponge. If it’s still not coming off, you can try a combination of baking soda and water mixed into a paste or a commercial product such as Barkeeper’s Friend.
To maintain sharpness, only use wood or plastic cutting boards. If the blade does become dull or damaged, contact us for a replacement blade.
For best results:
- Practice. The knife may feel awkward at first but once you are accustomed to the feel and function, you will find it slices smoothly and easily.
- Use a cutting board with a width slightly narrower than the length of the blade. This allows the blade’s teeth to make contact with the board when you finish the cut.
- Use a thick cutting board so that your knuckles will clear your work surface when finishing the cut.
